Charles Lazarus, who established Toys “R” Us 70 years ago, is no more, seven days after the organization declared it will be compelled to close down its U.S. tasks.
“He was the father of the toy business,” said Michael Goldstein, who succeed him as CEO. “He knew the toys and adored the toys and cherished the children who might shop in the stores. His face lit up when he watched kids playing with toys.”
